quartezw September 4, 2010 at 3:06 am

Mine is doing the same thing and i dnt have it on carpet like it plays for a little bit than during the game it goes to a black screen with 2 red lights..but now wen i cut it on it says “Your Xbox 360 console is designed to automatically shut down to protect it from insufficient ventilation an other stuff…what should i do cause i tried everything but nothing works

NeyRad September 4, 2010 at 3:34 am

@endlesshigh Haha yeah. Mines been doing that too (2 rings and graphics all glitchy before it happens) but its because it just started to get about 90 out and ur only supposed to play from like 40 to 75 degree temperature. Our AC broke… :(

SilentxAssassinx09 September 4, 2010 at 4:59 am

@endlesshigh true, but believe me, getting the heat trapped underneath and around it will make it overheat EXTREMELY quickly! Trust me, that’s what i did when i first had my 360, and it was not pretty. Just Make Sure nothing is crowding the console itself or the power supply ( big freaking box thing that older systems didnt need). and you should be ok.

endlesshigh September 4, 2010 at 5:53 am

@xXCWALDROUPXx lol i didnt notice cuz i moved it to the ground to get a better video of what was happing. fosho it wasnt because of being upside down. problem was the thermal paste inside melted away and it was overheating.

endlesshigh September 4, 2010 at 6:24 am

@SilentxAssassinx09 normally my xbox is on my shelf, but i thought that putting on the ground show it can be seen better because better lighting.

xXCWALDROUPXx September 4, 2010 at 6:39 am

dude u have it upside down.

SilentxAssassinx09 September 4, 2010 at 6:47 am

another tip is don’t put the 360 on the carpet, cuz by doing that, the heat get’s trapped in the carpet and stays under the 360. put it someplace smooth like a shelf or the box it came in. It’s overheating, so that might be why.

rocksofspades September 4, 2010 at 7:11 am

Your xbox was overheating, you need it to cool down by shutting it down for a while

UnicornCop4567 September 4, 2010 at 7:28 am

the 2 rings is the first stage of the rrod, i have the same problem
